Stars- what are they?

We have been doing research into the universe and especially stars. We have been reading books, watching videos and searching the internet for key facts and information. These are the stories we wrote about what we found.


Stars     

They are dots of light at night. They are made of hot gas. They are far way from us. They get their own light. The air makes the star twinkle and the air changes. A galaxy is a group of stars. Our galaxy is called the Milky Way. Stars are called constellations. Matariki is 7 stars. They use stars to find their way.

Stars are very hot because they are made out of hot gas. The stars are up in the sky and they re from far away. Stars can be hot. /stars can make their own light. Stars can disappear. Stars can be in groups called galaxies.

Maui and the Sun

maui and his brothers felt the sun was going too fast and the brothers got angry. The brothers had a plan to capture the sun. The cut flax to make ropes to catch the sun. Maui went to the pit where the sun rises.Hi brothers built a wall to hide behind. Then the sun woke up. and the brothers threw the ropes. maui hit the sun with a magic jawbone The sun goes slow now.

How Maui slowed the sun

The sun was moving too fast in the sky. Maui made a plan to slow down the sun. They walked all day to the sun's home. Finally they got there. Maui shouted to his brothers, "Now throw the ropes. I will hit him!" At last the sun agreed He went more slowly. Maui was happy.

First the sun was going too fast. Then Maui and his friends cut flax to make some ropes to catch the sun. Next they ere behind the wall. After that the sun woke up. finally Maui hit the sun's nose. The the sun agreed to go slow.

When I go to university I will be going to be a doctor. I am going to help people that are sick.

When i go to university I want to be an Art teacher. I want to be looking after children and teaching them how to paint.

 When I go to university I will learn things to be a policeman. I am going to arrest people if they are naughty or bad.

Stories about St Patricks Day and leprechauns

Leprechaun are fairy people from Ireland. We learnt about them when we were studying St Patricks Day. some of us watched a video story about how leprechauns and their pot of gold.



Here are some of our stories.

The leprechaun gave the man a pot of gold.

The little leprechaun went to a house to buy potatoes. He gave the girl a pot of gold.

The leprechaun gave the pot of gold to the little girl and the man stole it. the gold turned into bees and chased the old man so he ran away. The little girl gave the gold back to the leprechauns.

Matt-Rameyo

He can see a little girl and a big pot of gold. The bad man saw the pot of gold. He wanted it.

Soni

The bad man took the gold from the girl. The gold turned into bees. the girl gave the gold back to the leprechauns.

Eternity


The little  leprechaun put the gold in his house and the man man stole the gold.

Jerome

The girl found the gold and gave it to the Bad man and the girl took it home.

The  little leprachaun  gave the little girl a pot of gold.  The mean man stole it. The gold turned turned into bees.
